Celtic Manor Resort crowned Best UK Hotel at major events industry awards

Julie Hammond, CEO of ICC Wales and The Celtic Collection receives the award for Best UK Hotel at the M&IT Awards

The Celtic Manor Resort has been named the UK’s Best Hotel at the prestigious Meetings & Incentive Travel Awards in London.

On a fantastic night for The Celtic Collection, sister venue International Convention Centre Wales (ICC Wales) also picked up a silver award for Best UK Conference Centre at the M&IT Awards, one of the largest awards ceremonies for the UK business events industry, which took place on Friday (19th September) at JW Marriott Grosvenor House.

Celtic Manor Resort once again demonstrated its excellence by securing the Gold Award in the Best UK Hotel category, an accolade it has now achieved for the eleventh time. A unique venue for hosting events, the Resort’s Ian Edwards Conference Centre can seat 1,500 delegates for a keynote lecture or 900 dining guests for a gala dinner in the Caernarfon Suite, and a wide range of versatile facilities and team-building activities can cater for all types of events.

The Resort triumphed over a strong line-up of contenders, including Chewton Glen, DoubleTree by Hilton Glasgow Central, The Gleneagles Hotel, Oulton Hall and The Grand Hotel Birmingham. The Celtic Collection was also the only independent hotel operator to be nominated as a finalist in the Best Hotel Brand category.

Discussing the Gold award, The Celtic Collection’s Sales Director, Rachel Phillips, said: “Being crowned the best hotel in the UK for the eleventh time is a remarkable achievement for The Celtic Manor Resort. Accolades like this are built on the hard work and expertise of our teams, who deliver exceptional standards across every aspect of the guest experience. This award reflects our continued investment in people, facilities and service, and reinforces our standing as one of the UK’s most respected hospitality brands.”

In addition to the Resort’s win, ICC Wales once again retained its silver award for Best UK Conference Centre marking the third consecutive year it has achieved this recognition.

Reflecting on the awards, Julie Hammond, Group CEO of ICC Wales and The Celtic Collection, said: “It is an honour to see Celtic Manor Resort, ICC Wales, and The Celtic Collection recognised once again with these prestigious awards. Achieving Gold and Silver across such competitive categories speaks volumes about the consistent quality and commitment of our teams. These wins are not only a celebration of our people and venues but also a testament to Wales’ growing reputation as a destination for world-class meetings, conferences and events.”

Both ICC Wales and The Celtic Collection are now looking ahead to the upcoming miaList Awards and ABPCO Excellence Awards, where their venues, teams and individuals are again shortlisted across multiple categories.
