Get paid £3,000 to eat strawberries and cream

A dating app that matches people based on their emotional connection to music wants to pay someone £3,000 to eat strawberries and cream at a British music festival.

Dating app, POM, wants to hire a ‘Secret Food Reviewer’ to go undercover at this year’s Strawberries & Creem Festival, and test the quality of the strawberries and cream as well as other food and drink sold at the event.

Sponsoring the event, the app wants to use the taste tests as content for its social channels.

Applications close on 15th June ahead of the festival on 18th – 19th June. Anyone wishing to apply for the role can do so here:

In addition to making sure all food and beverages supplied at the festival are to the best standard possible, the ‘Secret Food Reviewer’ will be asked to document their experience through a range of video diaries.

The successful applicant will be paid £3,000 for the two-day role and will receive a free VIP ticket for themselves plus two others. In addition to payment, all expenses will be covered including food and drink consumed by the ‘Secret Food Reviewer’ over the weekend, as well as spending money and travel expenses.

Applicants must be aged 18 or over to apply for the job role through the POM app. No prior experience is needed; however, the app has stated that a ‘love of food and good music’ is required. Additionally, applicants must be confident in front of a camera as it wants to share the content created on its social channels.

The two-day role will run for the duration of the festival from the 18th – 19th of June.

Strawberries & Creem Festival is held in Cambridge and was founded in 2014. The festival has quickly grown to become one of the UK’s biggest music festivals and this year will be hosting big-name artists including Lil Wayne (his first performance in the UK in 14 years), Ella Mai and Tion Wayne.

POM harnesses the ‘Power of Music’, channelling it into an exciting, inclusive app to deliver genuine, meaningful connections based on a shared love of the same music. In a dating scene dominated by swipe-lefts and swipe-rights, POM likes to do things differently and matches users based on their music history and emotional responses. Quoted as “the app everyone is talking about”, the platform uses its data to curate a perfect end-to-end dating and social experience.

Vihan Patel, founder of POM, said,

“We are excited to be sponsoring Strawberries & Creem, a festival that celebrates a rich and diverse line-up of artists and something that strongly resonates with myself and POM.

“We wanted to have a bit of fun at the Strawberries & Creem Festival to celebrate our partnership – and pay one lucky person to come along to taste test the strawberries and cream sold at the event, along with other food and drink on offer, and help us shout about the overall festival experience. We think the weekend-long role will be a dream job for any foodie and music lover!”
