North Indian Punjabi restaurant Brilliant has expanded its London site with the support of a seven-figure funding package from HSBC UK, secured by celebrity chef and owner Dipna Anand.
The funding has enabled the restaurant to extend its banqueting area – predominantly used for events and when the main restaurant is full – enabling the business to accommodate more customers and create new jobs.
The restaurant’s catering section has also been expanded to support Brilliant’s ventures into corporate venue catering, including purchasing new equipment and building units to allow for bulk cooking. The increase in space will also enable the business to attract and accommodate even more large corporate clients, with existing clients including Twickenham Stadium, Chelsea F.C., and The Kia Oval, all part of Compass Group.
The business is also looking to hire five new starters to support the restaurant’s growth. Entry-level roles and apprenticeships will provide opportunities and learning for young people in the industry, a priority for the company and its owner Dipna.
Dipna Anand, the owner of Brilliant Restaurant, said: “We are delighted to continue growing the restaurant’s physical footprint and to develop our corporate catering offering with the support of HSBC UK. This is a key area of future growth for us and the additional capacity is integral as we continue to take on high-profile clients.”
Raj Yadav, Relationship Manager at HSBC UK, added: “Despite what has been a challenging few years for many in the hospitality sector, Brilliant has continued to go from strength-to-strength. The business has remained agile as it prioritises its growth in the corporate catering sector, whilst also developing its reputation as a premium Indian restaurant in the local area.”
The family-run restaurant gained popularity after being voted one of ‘Ramsay’s Best’ on the Channel 4 series ‘Ramsay’s Best Restaurant’ and has welcomed high-profile visitors, including His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales.
