Antoine Melon, co-founder of HOMETAINMENT wins Food Service Entrepreneur of the Year

Antoine Melon, co-founder and MD of HOMETAINMENT, London’s premier home entertainment and hospitality platform, has been announced as the winner of the Food Service Entrepreneur of the Year in the 2022 Food and Drink Heroes Awards.

Food & Drink Heroes was launched in 2020 by the team behind the Great British Entrepreneur Awards, but was held for the first time in person this year in Wickham. The awards recognised the entrepreneurs behind the UK’s best food and drink businesses of the moment. HOMETAINMENT was one of more than 700 applicants who were whittled down to 14 Food & Drink Heroes winners by a panel of expert judges from industry-leading companies including Selfridges, McDonald’s and Costa Coffee.

HOMETAINMENT is on a mission to change the future of Entertainment at HOME. Their platform enables customers to book Private Chefs, Mixologists, Musicians, Children entertainers and more. With over 2500 guests since June 2021 and major partnerships signed, HOMETAINMENT is now ready to scale in London and abroad.

Antoine Melon, co-founder and MD of HOMETAINMENT commented:
For us at HOMETAINMENT receiving this award after just a year of operation is the greatest distinction, we could ever have dreamed off coming from industry experts. It sanctions a year of hard work from all the people who have supported and believed in us and we want to dedicate this award to our HOMEtainers: this award is the result of their unwavering commitment to consumer satisfaction and to delivering the most perfect, unique and memorable experiences at HOME.

So, a huge thank you to our HOMEtainers, and also to our partners, advisors and investors: you are the robust ecosystem which motivates and drives us on our journey to change the future of HOME entertainment and to bring back the magic of Hosting at Home, bringing together friends and family, enjoying memorable experiences in a safe and comfortable environment, the HOME.

Francesca James, founder of Food and Drink Heroes, added:
The outstanding level of this year’s finalists have proved us right in thinking that UK food & drink entrepreneurs deserved an awards programme of their own to showcase the breadth of the industry. The competition was fierce, so those who were shortlisted should be assured that they have demonstrated an incredible level of determination, entrepreneurial spirit and drive.

“This year’s winners have undoubtedly had it tough given various circumstances affecting the UK over the past few years, so it’s more important than ever to us that we give these inspiring food and drink entrepreneurs a platform to be recognised and their companies showcased. This is especially the intention by holding the awards as part of a large-scale event like Ideas Fest, where we hope that the additional networking and learning opportunities they had there will help them to reach new highs going forward.

“We’re so proud of all of our 2022 Food & Drink Heroes for showing the tenacity to become leaders in their sectors – we wish them all the best of luck as they continue their business journeys!”
