Togather’s network of 2000 independent partners earn an average of £3k per month thanks to the platform’s unique AI algorithms
Hugo Campbell and Digby Vollrath, co-founders of Togather, discuss how the platform serves as an revenue generator for independent event suppliers
The UK’s events landscape has seen a surge in demand for personalised event experiences, with clients now increasingly seeking unique and tailored options. Serving as testament to this, new research from eBay Ads finds that one in five Brits plan to prioritise festivals over holidays this summer – resulting in an increase of 13.5% of new independent event suppliers across the UK. Leading event tech platform, Togather – formerly known as Feast It – highlights the importance of empowering the UK’s independent creators, hosting over 2000 of the very best independent suppliers, from street-food and photography to floristry and venues.
The platform operates through as a platform to source suppliers for event planners, as well as a management and booking tool for independent businesses, generating over 20,000 opportunities per month for the later to quote on. The unique access to public events, including widely celebrated occasions such as London Pride, The Royal International Air Tattoo and Canada Day, allows independent businesses to access events that have traditionally been exclusive. Revolutionising the way small independent businesses participate in major events – through their proprietary algorithm – Togather has become a growth engine for independent event suppliers, providing a route for new businesses to rapidly expand and thrive in traditionally restricted markets.
Having recently closed a funding round of $8.5m led by VC firm, UNTITLED, one of the key factors contributing to Togather’s success in the current economic climate is the remarkable month-on-month growth experienced by its partners on the platform. Currently, the average partner winning work through Togather takes home over £3k per month, representing a growth of 2x compared to 18 months ago. According to data from the Office for National Statistics (ONS) in 2020, the median annual earnings for event suppliers, such as photographers, in the UK was approximately £23,400. Some of Togather’s top partners are earning well over £10k per month, demonstrating the significant earning potential available through events powered by the platform.
Traditionally, established food vendors with substantial resources and networks dominated large events. This left small, independent food stalls struggling to secure lucrative opportunities. Togather has disrupted this dynamic, providing a streamlined process for vendors to tap into the UK’s corporate events arena, a market valued at £70 billion. Togather understands the evolving preferences of event-goers, who now seek unique and memorable culinary experiences that reflect local culture and spirit. Independent food stalls excel at providing these exceptional offerings, and by collaborating with Togather, they can satisfy the diverse tastes of attendees, further enhancing the overall event experience.
Hugo Campbell, co-founder of Togather, has commented on the investment raised by Togather and how it will be deployed:
“Fundamentally we want to build the best possible product for our incredible community of independent suppliers. Our vision is to create a ground-breaking operating system for our supply partners – a tool that can be central to helping them grow, whilst helping to streamline the tough parts of their day-to-day. Beyond that we’re really focusing on growing and developing our supplier community, not just signing them up to the platform. We want to feel like a genuine part of the ecosystem.
“Event suppliers’ lives are far less glamorous than you might imagine, and we want to enable them to concentrate on what they do the best: more of delivering incredible event experiences, and less sweating the small stuff.
“For our customers we want to deliver the best possible experience from the moment they start to even think about their event. We want to be their trusted little black book, that can help them create any event, any time they need. An always-on, digital event concierge.
“Finally, we’ll be investing heavily in the brand. We want to establish a brand that is both instantly recognisable and the go-to for unforgettable event planning solutions.”
