Hensol Castle Distillery awarded SALSA accreditation two years in a row

Hensol Castle Distillery, the only distillery of its kind situated in the cellars of a Grade-I listed castle, has been awarded Safe and Local Supplier Approval (SALSA) accreditation.

A food-safety standard, written by experienced food safety experts, SALSA reflects the legal requirements of producers and the enhanced expectations of ‘best practice’ for professional food buyers. Having launched in 2007, it is only awarded to small and micro businesses that are able to demonstrate the production of safe and legal food, and who are committed to continually meeting the requirements of the SALSA standard.

Hensol Castle Distillery currently produces its own range of award-winning gin and has recently launched its new line of rum, Judge Jenkins, as well as producing over 300 skus for over 60 clients. The contract bottling covers a variety of gin, vodka, whiskey, rum, tequila, vermouth and liqueur brands for UK, European and American clients.

James Lewis, Head of Operation at www.hensolcastledistillery.com, commented:

“A straight pass with no actions simply highlights the fantastic efforts by the team, who continue to ensure our customers always receive great quality, safe, legal and responsibly sourced products whenever they bottle with us. We have ambitious plans for next year, so watch this space.”
