Recently recognised by TripAdvisor as a 2023 Travellers’ Choice award winner, the distillery has received over 900 5-star reviews on the review platform. The family-run business also won Visitor Attraction of the Year at the 2023 Stirling Business Awards and are short-listed again for 2024.
The distillery produce award-winning hand-crafted gins and whiskies in the shadow of Stirling Castle. As the first legal distillery on the castle rock, guests can sample their range of products in a renovated Victorian building where King James VI was said to stable his horses. Whisky production in Stirling began for the first time in 171 years last October when the distillery began making their new-make spirit.
Distillery Manager Elle McCann spoke of the award: “Our passionate tour guides work hard to tell the wonderful history and folklore of Stirling that is celebrated through our range of products. We give guests an insight into the gin and whisky we produce as well as a chance to try a true taste of the city”.
Gin guests get welcomed to the distillery with a bespoke cocktail, then taken through the history of the spirit. After a tour of our distilling room visitors sample their range of gins and gin liqueurs. Those interested in whisky get the chance to sample the distillery’s new make whisky as well as their Sons of Scotland independent bottling range. For those not drinking, they can book the Driver’s Experience, receiving a welcome mocktail or soft drink, and leave with a single Stirling Gin or whisky to take home.
